Given that I did not eat dinner, I heated up some leftover KFC and ate it at 11:00 while I watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
Let's just say that I'll never do THAT again. >,<;
I have to get up in a five hours to get dressed for dance. Yaaay, physical activity! Just what I need after a whole night of debatchery and chicken.
Today, in Film Society, my friend Carly made the YUMMIEST CHRISTMAS CAKE EVAR. It had a tree and presents scene on it made of Fruit Roll-Ups, M&Ms, gummies, chocolate, and a stick of gum. One layer of the cake was green and the other was red, through use of food coloring. It was very refreshing - it was white cake mixed with anise, which was SO GOOD. She iced it with Cool Whip and put Cool Whip between the layers. The one layer of the cake, being anise-flavored and bright green, reminded me of absinthe. If I make a cake soon, I'm going to use only a little green food coloring and a lot of anise. Absinthe cake, anyone?
Speaking of Christmas, I have so much to do. . .
I just recieved an order that I need to get out TOMORROW so that they can get it to the buyer HOPEFULLY before Christmas. Another order, which was lost in the mail, has just returned to me, so I need to take care of that. I have to make
I don't necessarily want much for Christmas, but here's just a short wishlist of (mostly vague) things that I'm hoping for, for prosterity.
- Anything Lord of the Rings, preferably something to do with Legolas or Thranduil. (I am hopelessly fascinated by Mirkwood. There's little to no history on it, with the exception of the small article in Unfinished Tales. Writing little about such a subject is uncharacteristic for Tolkien - I'm hoping that there are manuscripts about Mirkwood yet to be published. Sadly, there very well may not be, as Tolkien was writing some things about Mirkwood shortly before his death.)
- Anything from Clockwork Couture.
- Anything steampunk or Victorian.
- A gift card for Barnes & Noble.
- A gift card for Hot Topic.
- A copy of any Tolkien book I do not already own - I am currently on the hunt for Morgoth's Ring. I found it on eBay.
- The Secret Commonwealth of Elves, Fauns, and Fairies by Robert Kirk. It's very hard to find, but I found three copies on eBay, all in the U.K.
I enjoy books.
